The HKSAR Government has announced that from today (Thursday 19th May) members are not required to wear a mask during training in the indoor sports venues. All other social distancing requirements remain in place.
19 May 2022
Sports Venues will re-open on 21 April and we are able to run some classes from the 22.
There are HKSAR government and LCSD rules in place which must be followed. Class sizes are limited to 20 for the larger venues but may need to be less at the smaller ones. There are limitations on the way we can train. i.e., 1.5 metres must be maintained between groups within the class. The training must be arranged in such a way as to limit the group number to a maximum of 4 persons (including the instructor). All are required to wear a face mask during training and within the venue. Please note that all are required to use the Leave Home Safe App to register upon entry to the sports venue. One dose of the Covid19 vaccine is required up to 29 April and the second dose is required from 30 April to be permitted to enter the venue. Electronic or paper certificates of vaccination status will be required to be shown.
In order to avoid disappointment, members are encouraged to register for classes in advance. Please register with the Association by email to firstname.lastname@example.org Registration will open at 5:00 pm two days before the class and close at 5:00 pm the day before the class. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Successful registrants will be notified via email. In the case of the smaller venues (e.g. a squash court or Aberdeen) the Instructor will decide the number that may train. He may decide to run two separate hour-long classes depending upon the numbers wishing to attend. Please indicate on your registration if you prefer the first or second session.
Members who are not registered in advance may also be permitted to practice, if the Instructor considers there is sufficient space on the tatami.
The class instructor will inform you of any other requirements for attending.
Please be reminded that although the HKSAR government has stated that Covid-19 daily new infections have declined, it also states that the Omicron variant is highly transmissible.
Hence social distancing and mask wearing requirements remain in place. Members are reminded to continue to be vigilant in maintaining social distancing, wearing a face mask, washing hands. Members should not attend classes if they feel unwell or have any suspicion that they may have been in contact with the infection.
